Music While We Wait
Amacker is (obviously) an extremely musical person. So am I. So is her sister. So is her Dad.
... imagine that.
I've added a little button over there on the right. Press the play button to hear something that reminds me of Amacker. I'll add something new each day or so.
Today's song is Loudon Wainwright, III singing "Daughter." It's a cute one!
If you have a suggestion for a song, feel free to leave it in comments or send it along. If you have a favorite picture of Amacker, send it to me and I'll put it up for everyone to see.

I've actually been thinking that maybe Amacker wants to listen to music? Is there anyway you can play music for her - for a little while, anyway. I was trying to devise a way to get her iPod to her. I could never play anything she'd want to hear - so I thought best to just play her own iPod!
I've thought the same thing. I'm not sure the nurses want the extra cables around her, because there are a lot of ins and outs already. I could maybe put in her headphones while I'm there, but even then they are often working on her. For what it's worth, I almost always sing to her.
That song is beautiful!
You don't know me, and nor does Amacker, though I know (of) her through her LJ, various webpages, NG's blog... Just to add my thoughts and hopes and wishes to all those already streaming over to her.
If you've got an iPod or similar, could you perhaps plug in speakers (little ones) and have that just near her, so the headphones don't get in the way? Just my ha'penn'orth.
I can't help any other way, but I'm rooting for her.
Nice song.
I don't know where your (or Amacker's) tastes might take you but you could try perusing at radioblog.
I use this to embed music in my photo entries and it works fine.

I have a set of little speakers you can plug the ipod into for her. Let me know if you want them and I'll find a way to get them to you.
Amacker and I got friendly sharing joint stories about rock and roll. I would love to send along "Lady Sleeps", a pure piano piece played live by Nicky Hopkins; the piece has a particular meaning for me, and I'm betting Amacker would love it. Plus, of course, the title is relevant.
Hi Richard; thanks so much for your info share. I was a DJ a million years ago with Amacker, and if you do have a way to get a song to her, I would suggest Richard Thompon's "1952 Vincent Black Lightning". It was something she loved to play.
If you put it on repeat and it annoys her to no end, I will relish the day when she punches me in the mouth with her healed up hand for making her listen to it over and over again.
Much love to our RJS,
Brian "Hairy Kari"
