Song of the Day: Do You Realize?

As I sit here and watch Amacker heal a bit more each day, I can't help wonder what's going on inside that massive brain of hers. On the outside, everything is fixing itself. Everything is coming along nicely, and soon she'll wake up. But you have to ask yourself what she's doing with all that processing power. Does she dream? Does she know we're here? I wonder if she'll remember the accident. I wonder what she realizes and what seems so very strange.

Soon.

This is one of my favorite songs. It's about the fact that all of us are here only for a short while, and the best you can do with your time is fill it with rich relationships.

I've wondered about that too - where her consciousness is while her body's healing. I imagine that either she's out THERE (whatever there is) surfing a righteous set of mind waves, or she's galloping amok with a consortium of gods deep in the great cosmic giggle. I mean, it's Amacker. No WAY is she gonna waste this experience for mind-expansion. Girl always goes BEYOND. You heal soon, dearling girl. We need you back here to give us your report!
Love,
Bridget

Hey Amacker, this is Lee in Bali...
Apa Kabar darling? Remember the one time I tried to get to BM and I wound up standing watch on my friends daughter at the hospital in Reno intead? We spent our days in ICU with her, and I know for a FACT (she told me months later) that you can hear, and some you will remember when as you get back into the world. So you get yourself well as fast as you can, no sooner, and I love you and I can't wait to hear your voice...everybody is on pins and needles, but take the time you need down in there....big hug, me.

Hearing is the last sense to disappear when heavily sedated. She knows you are there. The times when she is more awake, she may even understand what you are saying. In my own experiences with being a patient, I heard but couldn't always make sense of the words. And when I could I didn't really care about what was said or what it meant. But I knew the voices well and hearing them comforted me.

Amacker will know how dedicated and loving you've been to her Richard. There's no doubt in my mind that your daily voice is something that gives her comfort in the very scary unknown she is currently experiencing.
