Song of the Day: I Shall Be Released

I know I've gotten a bit behind with the song of the day. The reasons are simple.
  1. With Amacker awake all the time now, I spend more time with her than writing.
  2. Now that she's awake, we actually discuss the song of the day, and frankly we can NEVER agree on anything.
That said, Amacker has asked that the song of the day always introduce new music, and maybe in a way that seems familiar. Peter Gabriel's "Summertime" was the first collaboration of ours like that. I won't always meet that requirement, but I'll try.

The news that Amacker will soon leave the hospital has all hands are on deck putting the finishing touches on her home for her return. In fact, I dropped in yesterday to see their progress (I haven't helped one bit!), and I actually heard this quote:

"Katy, between the Cosmologist and the Speech Writer, neither of us can figure out what the f*ck you want."

Tim, the cosmologist, and Lisa, the speech writer, were trying to hang tapestries to the specifications of Katy, the yoga-instructor/dancer/musician wonder-girl... oh my.

Anyway, with Amacker's upcoming release from the hospital, the song choice today was easy. From a recording in 2004 featuring Warren Hayes and one of my very favorite artists, Ray Lamontagne, here is a beautiful cover of Dylan's "I Shall Be Released."

The picture is from Cherry Tart and shows Amacker's feet and the view from her place in Baja. Released indeed!

Amacker was doing great on monday
We relaxed with joy with many friends that came to have Fun!

She was enthusiastically working on an art project when I came.
Then We had Fresh Berries from the organic market and She had a whole cheesburger... me too!-Before getting wisked away on her wheely broom to go see the baby ducks in the pond and stanford art tour. Sound familiar?
Her court of many laughed with her
and she worked on multiple art projects with all of us.

Then She got a special feast delivered from a mysterious Lady in santa cruz. Gourmet Steak/Fluffy Mashed Potatoes /Veggies.. mmmm and Cheescake for dessert!

Hurrah! Back to Fun!

Hi Amacker! We are all so totally blown away by your amazing recovery!

We'd love to visit you but we're not sure how to make it happen with the girls. But know that you are in our thoughts and we are reading Richard's words daily. We will figure out the logistics and see you soon!

Love,

Looking forward to visiting Miss A. tomorrow!

Amacker sweetie -- we have got to talk about your yard! so many empty pots with nothing to put in them.

Your roses are all dead-headed, your alder is pruned, the vines have been chided to stay away from certain areas and your lavender should put out big time.

So me does..
Here is passage for what happened to my dad after he took a new trick plane out for the first ride 360 dives last year... and got out of his first hospital trip after falling... into gravity... Like Amacker...

When dad got back to his "Beanflower" Ami had the following things ready for him.
-This is my fathers (I mean my tribal elders passage below..)

-Cut- from Dad's book.

"Next Ami Sun presented me with a large, free-standing satchel containing several clear, three-ring binders. They were all neatly labeled with color-coded tabs, with titles like, HOSPITAL RECORDS, MEDICATIONS, DOCTORS’ REPORTS, BILLS, DAILY LOGS. I turned with curiosity to the DAILY LOGS section, to see that she has already created a chart on which I was to record my daily weight, blood pressure & pulse readings taken at various time intervals, a complete list of which medications are to be taken at what times, including a place to check off that I had taken them, a space to record what nutritional supplements & foods I ate at what times, how many miles I did on my treadmill, at what speed, including my top heart rate & symptoms or difficulty I experienced during that day’s exercise, how many reps I did in hand weights, elastic band stretches, tai chi, and quarterstaff routines, and a record of my overall moods & mood management techniques used in my daily coping & recovery."

Amacker need's the same thing..
for Health and Forward Steps in Healthy Love... Anyone want to make this? I have things ready~
